Given that the quality is good, leather burning is smooth and very enjoyable. (No fighting wood grain.) Leather can be framed or it can be worn or used, giving this form of pyrography a special added dimension. Colour can be added with dyes to compliment the work or it can be left monochrome for a moody, old fashioned feel. Nothing special is needed apart from your wood burning machine and a good quality vegetable cured leather.
All the fine Australian leather you see here comes from sides hand picked by myself for the best possible colour and smoothness. (Not a mark on it, light in colour and as smooth as the proverbial.)
There are no customs problems sending it overseas.
The difference between cow and roo hide is basically thinkness. The cow hide is approx 2mm+ thick. It's great for functional items and for being framed as a picture. The roo hide is approx 1mm- thick. It's is more supple and better used for thinner items such as bookmarks, leather jewellery etc.
Both the cow and roo hide are vegetable tanned for your safe burning.
